What’s in store for you 1.05.10

Coffeemug_5Hello, Peonistas!

Have you ever been frustrated by technology?

Have you ever struggled learning new software?

Do you ever want to throw your computer across the wall and just be done with it already?

Well, you are not alone.

Peonies just invested in new photo management software to help us organize the thousands of photos we take to show you what’s new in the store. Last night, we took 67 photos. It’s a long process: we price newly consigned items, print out labels, pin hagtags to garments and then set aside a few pieces to shoot.

We uploaded last night’s photos early early early this morning. We waited patiently (with coffee, lots of coffee, always with lots of coffee) while the photos uploaded. Finally, our photo software prompted “Are you sure you want to permanently remove these files?” we thought “no, no of course we don’t want to trash 9 long hours of hard work. DUH.”

Click!!!

Oh god, we just clicked “delete” instead of “save”.

That is why there are no photos for you this week. Soooo very sorry!  #$%! happens. You know?

This makes us wonder: Are we old? Inept? Technologied-out?

Does this ever happen to you? (Please make us feel better and say yes). Well, we know one thing for sure: this is not going to be a week-wrecker. There’s tons of new stuff at Peonies: Baggalini’s, jeans (Vertigo and Seven for All Mankind), a killer Komarov jacket, amazing shoes (many pairs on sale for 75% off) and mucho mucho Chico’s Traveler.

We just can’t show it to you.

So maybe this is a good time to ask you: is the effort worth it? Do you like our weekly updates with photos? Are they of value? Anything we should change? Should we keep doing them in 2010? Comments welcome!

PS we wouldn’t mind ‘clicking away’ stuff if we could click away extra pounds and mean people.

  7. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve clicked and then screamed! You’re not alone! Please don’t discontinue the pictures, they keep us coming!

  8. Clicked and screamed? What a hoot! Thank you, Joyce. Good to know, we’ll keep ‘em coming.

  9. Hi,
Don’t you dare stop sending those photos!! :) I love them, too! I so so so sympathize with your tech woes, who hasn’t clicked away something?

  10. I love and look forward to the weekly updates – with the photos and detail information on them. I have a couple friends who get the updates as well – we comment to each other about items that catch our eye each week – “did you see this or did you see that” Please continue them. They are fabulous.

  11. It’s really helpful to know that you look at the photos and if you can see the detailed information on them, that means you are actually clicking on them to enlarge. Which means that it’s not a waste of time for us to take the time to describe the brand, item, color, etc. Yay! Thanks, Pat.

  12. YES ladies! keep those pictures comin’. I do look forward to checking out your new treasures weekly. You guys are awesome, keep up the really great work….

  13. Laurel and Pam, I looove to get your emails…. I know alot of work goes into them…. but your comments are always so much fun and the pictures are beautiful!!!! It helps me keep on top of everything, too, all the way over here in Spain. Please don’t stop… Love, Susan Peters
