Peonies now in full bloom
Friday, May 29th, 2009What a great opening day for Peonies!
We were surprised by many unexpected deliveries throughout the day from well-wishers—exquisite peonies, tulips, cards, notes and a few surprise visitors— you know who you are and we love you! We felt badly that we couldn’t spend more time talking with our friends and families, but we were way too busy waiting on customers! Hurray!
Yes, there was some serious shopping going on today here in Centerbrook. At the end of the day, what we loved the most was that every one who was in the store seemed to have a great time being in the store. That made it fun.
We hope to have many, many more days like this to come!

Peonies blooms!
Friday, May 29th, 2009Peonies, the high-end resale clothing and accessories boutique for women is opening today here in Centerbrook, Connecticut.
It’s a little wet and chilly this morning so grab your Burberry, an umbrella, and come on over. Speaking of clothing and accessories, we have 500+ gorgeous pieces on the floor. There’s the luscious emerald Vera Wang that e-list editor Erica Tannen wrote about here, dozens of great handbags, hats, fun jewelry and some real bargains. Oh, did we mention that it smells amazing in the shop—with the aroma of just-baked sugar cookies wafting through the air? Fresh out of the oven and delivered to us :15 minutes ago by chef Susan Hainsworth of Seaflour foods!
Stop in and say hello: we’re open today (Friday, May 27) from 10am to 5pm. Please hurry: you can save us from taking too many cornball photos. We would love to see you!

E-list peeks inside Peonies

We are thrilled that E-List editor Erica Tannen asked us for a sneak peek at Peonies before it opens in a few days. We have been nervously awaiting her review: afterall, Erica’s weekly newsletter for fashionistas goes out to thousands of discriminating women. What if she didn’t like us? What if she didn’t like the way we set up the store? What if she didn’t like the clothes we had worked so hard to consign?
Think about it: Like a new restaurant receiving only one star from a noted critic, we could be doomed before opening. Sigh.
Tonight, we are in May twenty-seventh-heaven as we quick-open up Erica’s e-mail review. “Not your average, dusty consignment shop,” she writes, “this spot behaves like your favorite boutique: the space is clean and fresh, garments are pressed and the stock includes some rare goodies…”
One ‘rare goody’ at Peonies is a gorgeous Vera Wang from Consignor No. 07, worn once. This will truly be an amazing find for the right customer! Peonies welcomes consignors!

Peonies, the new resale clothing store for women in Centerbrook, Connecticut, is now accepting women’s couture, designer, and higher-end clothing and accessories. Peonies will open May, 2009.
Seeking discriminating shoppers and consignors, Peonies welcomes women’s clothing [no more than two years old] and accessories [handbags, belts, sunglasses, scarves, fabulous hats, etc.] We also love vintage items in excellent condition.
We will consider once-worn, twice-worn or new shoes, but nothing that looks too “used.”

Clothing should be less than 2 years old, in perfect condition, clean and pressed. All items must be on hangers.
