Happy birthday to you! Celebrate big! I’m guessing 6:48AM. Did you know that you are supposed to do a little something nice for yourself each day for a month starting on your birthday? I learned this several years ago from a woman in her 80’s. She looked fabulous and had such spirit……I bet that’s why. So get started!

I decided to dye my hair. It felt so cool to apply the goop to my scalp and then pile my hair up into a spiral. It felt so good that I left it up there an hour. Now, I have jet black hair instead of the unassuming brown I usually go with. But it was a nice hour and a pleasant respite from the heat.

I spent the heat wave cleaning the bathroom. Okay, so I spent it cleaning mainly the bath tub, by which I mean constantly filling it with ice cold water to do my hard scrubbing. Whoever said hot water cleans better obviously never scrubbed a bathtub during a heat wave. <3

My husband and I strip down to our skivvies and head to the basement to cool off. Good thing the teenage kids are away. They would be mortified!

I walk in the door, run through the wall of heat to the kitchen to grab a bowl of frozen grapes from the freezer and retreat to the bedroom where I put on the air and camp out for the evening.
